This page lists services that can help if you are experiencing abuse or violence, or if you are worried about someone who is. Yasmin’s office is not able to provide direct support, but the services below are staffed to do so.

National Domestic Abuse Helpline

24 hours a day, every day of the year. Free and confidential.

For women experiencing any kind of domestic abuse, and for friends, family, and colleagues supporting someone who may be experiencing it. Run by Refuge.

Live Fear Free Helpline (Wales)

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Free and confidential. Calls welcomed in Welsh and English.

For anyone in Wales experiencing domestic abuse, sexual violence, or any other form of violence against women, and for friends, family, colleagues, and professionals supporting them. Funded by Welsh Government and run by Welsh Women’s Aid.

Forced Marriage Unit

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside these hours, consular assistance is available 24 hours a day from the nearest British Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate, or by calling 020 7008 5000.

A joint unit of the Home Office and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Provides advice and support to anyone affected by forced marriage, including British nationals overseas.

Specialist support for honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and FGM.

If your case relates to honour-based abuse, forced marriage, or female genital mutilation, the Halo Project, which Yasmin founded, may be able to help.

The Halo Project is a national specialist charity supporting Black and minoritised victims and survivors of these harms. It provides direct support, advocacy, and casework.

A note on safety online.

If you are worried that someone may be monitoring your devices or your internet activity, the services above can help you contact them safely. Most have webchat, text, or alternative routes for people who cannot speak on the phone. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline website also has guidance on using technology safely.
